DS18B20U+T&R

Description

The DS18B20U+T&R is a digital temperature sensor from Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated). It operates on the 1-Wire interface, requiring only one pin for communication. Key features include built-in temperature measurement (-55°C to +125°C), programmable resolution (9-12 bits), and NV alarm settings. The DS18B20U+T&R is suitable for various applications, including consumer products, industrial systems, and thermally sensitive equipment.

Features

The DS18B20U+T&R is a digital temperature sensor with unique features:
1-Wire interface, requiring only one port pin for communication.
Integrated temperature sensor and EEPROM, reducing component count.
Measures temperatures from -55°C to +125°C, accurate ±0.5°C in certain ranges.
Programmable resolution from 9 to 12 bits.
Low power modes, requiring only 2 pins (DQ and GND) for operation.
Multidrop capability simplifies distributed temperature sensing applications.
Nonvolatile alarm settings are user-definable and can identify devices with temperatures outside programmed limits. The DS18B20U+T&R is suitable for various applications, including consumer products, industrial systems, thermally sensitive systems, and thermometry-related devices.

Package

The DS18B20U+T&R temperature sensor comes in various packages, including 8-pin SO (150 mils), 8-pin µSOP, and 3-pin TO-92.

Pinout

The DS18B20U+T&R temperature sensor has a pin count of 3 or 8, depending on the package: TO-92 (3-pin) or SOIC (8-pin). Functionally, it includes:
Power (VCC): Supply input for power consumption.
Data (DATA): Used for communication between the sensor and a microcontroller.
GND (Ground): Connects to the system ground. In 1-Wire interface mode, only the DATA pin is used, while VCC and GND are needed for parasitic power mode operation.

Manufacturer
